So this past weekend I become the last person on Earth to see Avatar. Let me tell you I wasn’t as unimpressed as I thought I would be given James Cameron’s last three hour blockbuster (looking at you Titanic). Let me just address the 500 lb gorilla, elephant, or whatever it is that’s in the room: 3D. The 3D in Avatar was amazing, it just plain was, and unlike many past implementations of 3D which was simply done to add wacky in your face special effects, Avatar used the third dimension to bring you one more dimension into the story, immersing you into a world that you are somewhat sad to leave after close to three hours there. (Though people have mentioned to me the battle scene was one Megan Fox low cut shirt shy of a Michael Bay film).
In short, see the movie, see it in 3D because its just not going to cut it on your old Zenith set in your mom’s basement!
