All smartphones can be held wrong!
July 21, 2010mike 7 Comments »This just in! Smartphones can ALL be held wrong. That’s right, Steve Jobs just told me that the iPhone 4 isn’t the only smartphone that can be held wrong, they all can. I am presently a Palm Pre user and I make no reservations about it. I wanted to test Mr. Jobs theory with my own phone and find the point in which it and perhaps all smartphones can be held wrong, so I did a little research and here’s what I cam up with:
It not only is a bad position to hold the phone when making phone calls, but taking pictures can be troublesome in this position as well… ok actually that’s a lie, the accelerometer is smart enough to right the image of the camera, but the logo is still upside down (the new balw Pre). Using the phone is a huge problem, not because of the signal, but because the speaker and mic don’t line up with your with your ear and mouth respectively. Many apps and the main menu do not work well in this position (death grip or not) but the web works just fine again thanks to the built in accelerometer.
Steve Jobs, you were right every smartphone has a way to hold it wrong in which you can’t make phone calls (unless you use a wired or bluetooth headset, or the speakerphone of course!)
